A doubling of global primary materials used will be needed to cover the population’s growth during next years. By 2050, the world is expected to generate 3.40 billion tons of waste annually, increasing drastically from today\u2019s 2.01 billion tons.
\nThe European Green Deal, Bruxelles 2019, launched a concerted strategy for a climate-neutral, resource-efficient and competitive economy.<\/p>\n
To achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and decoupling economic growth from resource use, the EU needs to accelerate the transition towards a regenerative growth model that gives back to the planet more than it takes. The circular economy is one of the main pillars to drive the change.<\/p>\n
