{"id":600,"date":"2020-09-25T14:57:01","date_gmt":"2020-09-25T12:57:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clik.polito.it\/?post_type=challenge&#038;p=600"},"modified":"2020-09-28T10:26:16","modified_gmt":"2020-09-28T08:26:16","slug":"e-mobility-electric-vehicle-charging-experience","status":"publish","type":"challenge","link":"https:\/\/clik.polito.it\/en\/challenge\/e-mobility-electric-vehicle-charging-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"e-Mobility: Electric Vehicle Charging Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The environmental challenges linked to mobility both in terms of emissions and of sustainable and efficient energy use are becoming increasingly important.<br \/>\nOne of the most effective solutions for achieving green mobility is represented by the electric vehicle, thanks to its complete absence of emissions during use and to the greater energy efficiency of electric engines, despite a still limited market penetration (1-2% in EU, 2018).<br \/>\nThe batteries of electric vehicles currently have limited energy for weight units and high recharge times: the current limited autonomy and highly dependent on environmental conditions, together with the combined effect of a recharging infrastructure not yet sufficiently capillary together with recharge times high, generates in the customer what is called &#8220;range anxiety&#8221;.<br \/>\nIn this scenario, the challenge proposed by FCA concerns the study and optimization of<br \/>\nthe battery system and its recharging, combining the need to increase the recharging power to reduce its duration with the need to preserve the useful life of the batteries.<\/p>\n<p>The main points of this activity concern:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the development of an optimization model to identify the percentage of optimal<br \/>\npercentage of battery recharge basing on the expected daily travels, recharge power and<br \/>\nprice<\/li>\n<li>the evaluation of the impact of the power charging level on the duration of batteries<br \/>\n(trade-off)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This activity will be recognized within your educational plan with 8 CFU credits.<br \/>\nCheck your institutional email, look for\u00a0 \u2018<strong>Challenge @ Clik<\/strong>\u2019 and read the regulation carefully.<br \/>\nSIGN UP NOW!
