By combining innovative engineering, new entertainment technologies, and human-machine interaction, Leva creatively supports artistic directors, architects, and artists, enabling them to bring bold visions to life.

An example of this philosophy is the transformation of museum spaces into immersive, engaging environments through kinetic and interactive installations. Custom systems, designed to integrate seamlessly with the museum’s spaces and visitor flow, captivate and wow users, creating memorable experiences while serving as a medium to convey the museum’s themes and core values.

CHALLENGE

The goal is to design and engineer a kinetic installation to be placed within a museum, aimed at achieving one or more of the following objectives:
1) engage and impress visitors as a welcoming centerpiece;
2) communicate core museum themes through dynamic visual storytelling;
3) regulate visitor pace within the entrance space and guide the flow toward exhibition areas;
4) display real-time information related to the museum or the visitor experience.
The installation must be aligned with the museum’s identity and mission, based on controlled-motion mechatronic systems, and capable of integrating multimedia technologies such as LEDs, holographic displays, projections, and interactive sensors.

IMPORTANT: The challenge is primarily technical: the focus is not on artistic creativity, but on the ability to develop functional, solid, and robust engineering systems capable of operating reliably in a public environment while effectively supporting communication, orientation, and engagement within the museum space.

Clik here for the syllabus!

Download the pdf to discover if your degree programme recognizes you credits for this challenge.

BACKGROUND Leva is an engineering company that designs complex mechatronic systems to connect people, brands, and spaces, fostering engagement and exploration in immersive environments.
