Designing innovative urban spaces_By Gruppo Costruttori Edili &#8211; Unione Industriale della Provincia di Asti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Background:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe contemporary urban landscape often sees once-vital areas falling into disuse, leaving a void in the city.<br \/>\nThis is the case of the &#8220;Ex Ospedale&#8221; area in Asti. ANCE Asti aims to revive this forgotten area, giving it a new identity and enhancing it through the creation of a cultural hub able to communicate the economic and cultural excellences from the region.<br \/>\nHence, the project involves the redevelopment of the lot, the renewal of the whole area and the design of a new building, which must fit into the existing fabric while respecting the identity and history of the surrounding area.<br \/>\nThe case study will be addressed from both technical and cultural perspective.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Challenge:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe aim of the Challenge is to envision an innovative multifunctional building on the &#8220;Ex Ospedale&#8221; site in Asti.<br \/>\nThese are the key points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The building must foster an urban regeneration process;<\/li>\n<li>Its shape must be iconic and recognizable, gathering local values and identity, with a maximum height of 70 meters;<\/li>\n<li>It must be flexible and adaptable to various uses (offices, conference areas, guestrooms, viewpoint etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Sustainablity must be explored in all sense (environmental, energy efficiency, maintenance, durability, flexibility);<\/li>\n<li>Business plan outlining all costs and value proposition, highlighting the advantages for the city.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/didattica.polito.it\/pls\/portal30\/gap.pkg_guide.viewGap?p_cod_ins=01SKAPG&amp;p_a_acc=2025&amp;p_header=S&amp;p_lang=&amp;multi=N\"><strong>Clik here for the syllabus!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Download the pdf to discover if your degree programme recognizes you curricular or extra curricular credits for this challenge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background: The contemporary urban landscape often sees once-vital areas falling into disuse, leaving a void in the city.
